Understanding diabetic foot ulcers

DIABETES IS A CHRONIC condition that's become an epidemic worldwide. Two to three percent of people with diabetes will develop a foot ulcer each year, and their lifetime risk of developing a foot ulcer is as high as 25% due to neuropathy and potential coexisting vascular disease.
